Glass shattered after wild pitch at Mets game

WASHINGTON – The ceremonial first pitch before Tuesday night’s Mets game at Citi Field was one to remember after the pitcher threw a wild ball that shattered the glass behind home plate.

Pitcher Gary Green, a huge Mets fan and owner of Triple-A team the Omaha Storm Chasers, threw so high the catcher didn’t even try to grab it, Yardbarker.com reports.

“The ball took a bounce a few feet in front of the backstop and shattered the glass,” the article says.
