Correction: Radford Tuition story

RADFORD, Va. (AP) — In a story May 12 about Radford University tuition and fee increases, The Associated Press reported erroneously that the school’s Board of Visitors approved an across-the-board 4.8 percent increase. The university said the increase is 4.28 percent.

RADFORD, Va. (AP) — Tuition and mandatory fees are increasing at Radford University.

The university’s Board of Visitors has approved an across-the-board 4.28 percent increase in tuition and fees for the 2014-2015 academic year.

In-state undergraduate tuition and fees will increase by $384. Out-of-state undergraduate students will pay an additional $905.

In-state graduate students will pay an additional $417. Tuition and fees for out-of-state graduate students will increase by $814.

Radford said Monday in a news release that the increase will bolster efforts to provide additional need-based financial aid. It also will support development of additional programs and initiatives.

Radford’s board approved the increase Friday during its quarterly meeting.
