MARC trains running again after fatal pedestrian accident

May 7, 2008 - 8:31am
ROCKVILLE, Md. -- MARC trains on the Brunswick Line are running again after being stopped in Rockville Wednesday morning.

Trains were halted after a freight train struck and killed a pedestrian on the tracks north of the Garrett Park station between Rockville and Silver Spring.

MARC trains are running at reduced speeds with delays up to an hour and a half.

Montgomery County fire department spokesman Pete Piringer says the fatal accident happened around 6:20 a.m. Wednesday.

Metrorail honored all MARC tickets Wednesday.
