CLEVELAND (AP) — Browns Pro Bowl tight end Jordan Cameron suffered a concussion in the first half Sunday against Oakland.
Cameron made a diving catch over the middle in the second quarter before he was struck by Raiders safety Brandian Ross. Cameron, who earlier dropped two passes, held on for a 21-yard gain and Ross was given a personal foul for hitting a defenseless receiver.
Cameron stayed in a seated position on the field before walking to the bench under his own power. He was then escorted to Cleveland’s locker room for further evaluation. At the start of the second half, the Browns announced Cameron will not return.
Cameron had three catches for 40 yards before he was hurt. He has 13 receptions this season after getting 80 a year ago.
The Browns offense was struggling with Cameron and without him, quarterback Brian Hoyer has one less option.
Earlier, Browns defensive back K’Waun Williams went out with a neck injury. He recently returned from a concussion.
Raiders backup cornerback Chimdi Chekwa left with a hamstring injury.
