RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — The Virginia Information Technologies Agency says a state computer system failure has been corrected.
The computer server system stopped working on Friday when 79 servers disconnected from their data storage system.
The agency says there doesn’t appear to be any significant loss of a data as a result of the system failure.
Virginia chief information officer Samuel A. Nixon Jr. tells the Richmond Times-Dispatch (http://bit.ly/1jxqqiI ) that all systems have been restored and are operational.
Nixon says the problems appear to have been caused by a hardware failure.
The servers are computers that provide data to other computers. Those affected by the failure are part of a storage area network at contractor Northrop Grumman’s Commonwealth Enterprise Solutions Center.
