Inaugural parade tickets gone in less than 1 minute

January 9, 2009 - 3:00pm
Michelle Basch, WTOP Radio

WASHINGTON - If you don't have bleacher seat tickets to the inaugural parade, expect to pay big bucks.

The $25 tickets to the event went on sale through Ticketmaster at 1 p.m. Friday.

All of the 5,000 tickets sold out in less than a minute, a Ticketmaster spokesman tells WTOP.

You still have a shot if you're in the market for the tickets. Many tickets are already on sale online - for a price.

A seller on eBay from Indianapolis listed four parade tickets for $2,009.09. (At least the overnight shipping is free.)

Tickets get you a seat in the bleachers along the parade route, but not an assigned seat.

If you get tickets, remember you have to be seated by 1 p.m. The parade on Jan. 20 starts between 2:30 p.m. and 3 p.m.

You don't need a ticket if you plan to stand along the parade route.
