LANDOVER, Md. - It's the final preseason home game for the Redskins Thursday night. If you plan to take Metro to Fed-Ex Field, remember you can't take Metro's shuttle bus to the game.
The shuttle between the Landover rail station on the Orange Line and Fed-Ex isn't running. New charter bus regulations by the Federal Transit Administration have put the brakes on the shuttle.
You can park at Metro's Morgan Boulevard station where there are 635 spots or at Largo Town Center where there are 2,200 spots. Both are on the Blue Line. Parking will cost you $25, and you'll need a SmarTrip card to pay for it. Paid parking at these stations starts at 4 p.m. and continues for two hours after the game, Metro says.
Fans who want to ride Metro to the game are being told to get off at the Morgan Boulevard Station and walk. It's under a mile to the field from Morgan Boulevard.
The Morgan Boulevard Station is not expected to have a problem handling any extra riders.
Metro will operate its regular rush hour service before the 7 p.m. kickoff against Jacksonville.
As far as getting home after the game, the transit agency will have extra trains on hand.
