BELTSVILLE, Md. - U.S. Park Police have identified two men killed in a multi-car accident on the Baltimore-Washington Parkway.

They are identified as 60-year-old Leroy Tyler of the District, who was driving a Mitsubishi Laser, and 48-year-old Ronald Wayne Meader of Severn, who was operating a motorcycle.

Police are asking that anyone who may have witnessed the crash to call the United States Park Police, Criminal Investigations Branch at (202) 610-8737.

Prince George's County Fire and EMS spokesman Maj. Erroll George says the accident occurred in the southbound lanes near Powder Mill Road shortly after 5 a.m. Thursday.

U.S. Park Police say the accident occurred when a car traveling northbound crossed the median and into the southbound lanes, hitting at least one car.

The accident prompted officials to close the heavily-traveled commuter route for about five hours while police investigated the accident. The parkway reopened after 10:30 a.m. Thursday.

There were four vehicles involved in the accident, including two pickup trucks, one sedan and a motorcycle.
