Expect Metro delays all weekend

WASHINGTON - Track maintenance and rail car testing will affect all Metro lines this weekend, as cars are forced to use one track for inbound and outbound trains.

Blue Line Track Maintenance

Maintenance will occur between the Franconia-Springfield and Van Dorn Street Metrorail stations. Riders should add up to 30 minutes of travel time for both inbound and outbound trains during these times:

  • Friday - 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.
  • Saturday - 10 p.m. to 3 a.m.
  • Sunday - 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Orange Line Bridge Repairs

Bridge repairs will be taking place between the Stadium-Armory and Cheverly stations. Riders should add up to 20 minutes of travel time for their trips. Inbound and outbound trains will share one track from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday.

Green Line Rail Car Testing

Rail car testing will take place between the Greenbelt and College Park stations. Riders should add 15 minutes of travel time for their trips. Inbound and outbound trains will share one track between these locations on from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday.

Red Line Track Maintenance

Track maintenance will be taking place between Friendship Heights and Medical Center stations. Riders should add 15 minutes of travel time for their trips. Inbound and outbound trains will share one track from 9 p.m. to midnight Sunday.

Blue and Yellow Line Track Maintenance

Track maintenance will take place between Pentagon City and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport stations. Riders should add 15 minutes of travel time to their trips. Inbound and outbound trains will share one track on from 10 p.m. to midnight Sunday.
