Hyattsville Man Busted in Fuel Tanker Hijacking

October 25, 2007 - 7:20am
BALTIMORE (AP) - A Hyattsville man has been arrested and charged with hijacking a diesel fuel tanker truck from Baltimore last week.

Willie Orlando McKinnon, 43, of Hyattsville, was arrested by Prince George's County and Baltimore City Police in Hyattsville about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. He was charged with armed robbery, hijacking and theft.

Prince George's Police Spokesman Cpl. Arvel Lewis said McKinnon's arrest came after police received information from residents.

The tanker truck carrying 7,100 gallons of diesel fuel was taken at gunpoint from a city fuel depot early Oct. 19, then found later in Washington, police said.
