D.C. primary election date could be pushed back to June

Some District lawmakers are proposing legislation that would move back D.C.’s 2014 primary election by more than two months, The Washington Post reported.

D.C. Council Chairman Phil Mendelson said Monday that he expects to introduce legislation as soon as Tuesday moving the primary from the first Tuesday of April — that’s April 1 next year — to mid-June.
