Walking shark discovered in Indonesia

WASHINGTON — A third type of walking shark was discovered in Indonesia recently, which may come as a surprise to those who didn’t realize there was a first and second.

The Hemiscyllium halmahera is a newly discovered species of epaualette shark, reports the The Los Angeles Times.

The Times says the shark lives “off the coral reefs along the coast of Halmahera, a remote Indonesian island.”
