SEATTLE (AP) — Lawyers for a Russian man charged with hacking into business across the U.S. filed new motions in federal court insisting that they don’t have a conflict of interest and should remain on the job.

They also say the U.S. Bureau of Prisons has not allowed them to meet with Roman Seleznev face to face.

He was indicted in 2011 and arrested in the Maldives in July on charges that he hacked into U.S. businesses and installed software that allowed him to steal credit card numbers. He pleaded not guilty. He also faces racketeering charges in Nevada.

In their latest motion, his lawyers called his transfer to the United States a “forced rendition.”

A hearing is scheduled Friday for arguments on whether the lawyers have a conflict because the law firm also represented some of the alleged victims.
