Former neighbor to suspect: ‘What the **** are you doing?’

WASHINGTON – As the search continues for the second suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings, those who have connections to the two men are coming forward to share what they know.

Larry Aronson lives three houses away from the Tsarnaev family in Cambridge.

Aronson retired from his career as a history teacher at Cambridge Rindge Latin School in 2007. He has since worked at the school as a photographer.

Aronson got to know suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev from photographing him extensively while Dzhokhar was on the wrestling team, he says.

Echoing the sentiments of Tsarnaev’s uncle Ruslan Tsarni, Aronson wants the suspect to turn himself in. He says he knows exactly what he’d say given the chance to talk to Tsarnaev.

“What the f**k are you doing? That’s exactly what I would say to him. It makes no sense,” Aronson says.

Aronson last talked with Tsarnaev some time in January.

“He seemed fine. He didn’t seem any different. I mean he said hello to me, I didn’t say hello to him,” Aronson says.

“He presented himself as he was. Authentically — like any other high school kid. Athletic, he was an honor’s kid, never in trouble. A wonderful kid,” he says.

Tsarnaev never talked to him about his older brother, Aronson says.
