Autopsy: Death ‘suspicious’ in Va. skeletal remains case

WASHINGTON – Authorities say the skeletal remains found alongside an I-95 off ramp in August belong to a female who was between 25 and 40 when she died.

Stafford County police say the remains had been in the area for at least one year, possibly longer, and that evidence found at the scene suggests the death was suspicious.

The remains were found on Aug. 16 in a wooded area near the northbound 140 off ramp of the interstate.

Stafford County and Virginia State Police will work together on the investigation, they say.
