Police conduct search for missing Va. boy

WASHINGTON – An 11-year-old boy from Gallop Lane north of Purcellville has gone missing.

Loudoun County police are searching for the child, Andrew Hyde, who left his home on his own at about 4:30 p.m. on Friday. He is thin and white, with dirty blonde hair and blue eyes, and was last seen wearing a dark gray or black shirt with black and yellow stripes and long sleeves with blue jeans.

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue Team and members of the community searched for Hyde on Friday, using an aerial and ground approach. Maryland state police and Fairfax County police provided aerial support.

Homes in the immediate area where Hyde reportedly went missing also received a reverse 911 message.

Anyone with knowledge of Hyde’s location is asked to call the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office at 703-777-1021 immediately.
