Robbers hold up State Theatre after New Year’s Eve bash

WASHINGTON – The City of Falls Church Police Department needs your help in solving an armed robbery that happened on New Year’s morning.

Police say just before 7 a.m. the State Theatre on North Washington Street was robbed by two black men, who are believed to be in their 20s or possibly younger.

Wearing black hooded sweatshirts, black baseball caps and bandanas, the suspects went into the building and demanded money. One had a gun.

At the time, only one employee was working. The theatre had just had a New Year’s Eve retro dance party with The Legwarmers.

Nobody was hurt as the robbers got away with an undetermined amount of cash.
