Serial peeping suspect arrested in Fairfax County

WASHINGTON – Fairfax County police have arrested a 40-year-old Woodbridge man they suspect is responsible for cases of peeping going back to 2011.

A resident in the Kingstowne area of Fairfax County alerted police Friday and Michael C. McCarter was arrested and charged with peeping warrants.

Officials believe he may be linked to more than 200 cases in the Franconia area and about 50 each in West Springfield and Sully districts.

Police say McCarter picked random women in their 20s through 50s, who were alone in their homes and watched them while he committed a sexual act.

The incidents took place between 1 and 4 a.m. at ground-level apartments, police say.

The suspect works as a fuel delivery truck driver.

Anyone with information or who believes that they were victimized but did not report the incident to police is asked to call the Franconia District Criminal Investigative Section at 703-922-0894.
