WASHINGTON – A police impersonator is making the rounds, Arlington County police say.
The man recently pretended to be a law enforcement officer at two stores in the Pentagon City mall Jan. 3. He flashed a badge, identified himself as a detective and tried to “seize” watches he claimed were evidence in a case.
In both incidents, the store employee refused and the man fled.
He is described as a black male, about 5-feet-8-inches tall and weighing 170 pounds. He was wearing dark jeans, a gray jacket and a red and black plaid hat.
