Blondes vs. Brunettes football game tackles Alzheimers

WASHINGTON – It may be the prettiest football game you’ll see this season. It’s the Blondes versus Brunettes charity game to “Tackle Alzheimers.”

Whether you’re rooting for Team Blonde or Team Brunette, you will have a lot of fun on the George Washington University Mt. Vernon Campus at 1:00 p.m. Saturday.

“It’s open to everyone; you just have to donate $25. And last year it raised over $100,000 for the cause,” says Greg O’Neill, founder of GregsListDC.com, who says that’s not the only hot event that’s getting a lot of attention on his social events website.

There’s also the 1K Wine & Beer Walks at Crystal City Shops.

“You get to sample 22 wines or 22 beers, depending on which walk you do, and at the end of it you work it off with a big dance party,” he says.

O’Neill is the keeper of all things social in DC. “We know from traffic on the site what is really exploding. And what’s getting major attention is that traveling pop-up fashion boutique that’s coming to DC.”

It’s called “Outfitted” and it’s only here from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday this at The Loft at 600 F offering fashions from LA to browse. The kids, however, might enjoy the Gaylord National Hotel and Convention Center’s Christmas display called ICE which is now open through Jan. 5.

“You can marvel at a 20-foot high hand-crafted ice sculptures that they have, or they have a a two-story ice slide. And that’s obviously great for families.”
