"The Last American Dinosaurs" at Natural History Museum

Gigantic Tyrannosaurus rex and Triceratops skeletons are the highlights the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History's new exhibit opening Tuesday, November 25. "The Last American Dinosaurs: Discovering a Lost World" details what like was like for dinosaurs during the last years that they roamed what is now North America. The exhibit will remain on view until work on the museum's new dinosaur hall is finished. The hall is scheduled to reopen in 2019.

You can see Season's Greenings, the annual holiday display at the United States Botanic Garden in D.C. from November 27, 2014 through January 4, 2015. This year's exhibit will include 33 lighthouses, as well as a pirate ship and sea creatures, and evey one is made from plants. There will also be live seasonal music on some Tuesday and Thursday evenings.

The "Making Their Mark: Stories Through Signatures" exhibit at the National Archives runs March 21, 2014-January 5, 2015. It includes Adolf Hitler's signature on his marriage certificate and will, an "X" signed by a slave who couldn't read, and a patent for shoes filed by Michael Jackson and others allowing him to do an amazing signature move on stage. Admission is free.

Highlights include an anthrax-laced letter addressed to Senator Tom Daschle, handcuffs used on Unabomber Ted Kaczynski, and a touch table that lets visitors see if they can spot potentially dangerous mail.
