WASHINGTON – Police are searching for two men who tried to rob a Montgomery County store Wednesday morning.

Montgomery County police say two men entered the CVS at 7955 Tuckerman Lane in the Cabin John Shopping Center at about 4 a.m. Police say one of the suspects displayed a handgun and demanded money from a store employee, but both suspects ran off without getting any cash.

Police say a store employee went outside as the men were fleeing, and one of the suspects fired a shot. No one was hurt.

Detectives say they are looking into the possibility the two suspects also were involved in the attempted robbery of a Wells Fargo bank in Rockville Tuesday afternoon.

The first suspect in Wednesday’s incident is described as a black man in his 20s who was wearing a black baseball cap with a white insignia, a black hooded sweatshirt with a gray logo, camouflage pants, black tennis shoes and a fake beard.

The second suspect is described as a black man in his 20s who was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and a black ski mask.

Anyone with information about the CVS incident is asked to call Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS or leave a tip here. A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and/or indictment in the crime.
