Driver killed after crashing into store in Fairfax

WASHINGTON – A 29-year-old man was killed Sunday afternoon when his car crashed into a store in Fairfax, Va.

City of Fairfax police say Vladislav Bochkov, of Fairfax, was stopped on Route 50 at a traffic light. When the light turned green, Bochkov’s BMW went across three lanes and continued onto Fairfax Boulevard, then went over a median and hit a building that’s home to a T-Mobile store.

Bochkov was pronounced dead at Fairfax Hospital. Police say he did not appear to be wearing a seatbelt.

Police say there was no one else in the car, no one else was hurt and there was no structural damage to the building.

The incident is the first fatal crash in the city in 2013. Authorities are continuing to investigate.
