A Bethesda Row furniture and design store is opening its month-long summer sale with an open-to-the-public ice cream social.

Urban Country (7117 Arlington Rd.) will host the event on Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Bethesda Row Haagen-Dazs will provide complimentary ice cream and Urban Country will promote its sale:

The month-long Summer Sale at Urban Country will feature 20 percent off all decorative accessories and gifts including bedding, lighting, fashion accents, dinnerware, baby items and special orders. Also included in the sale is 25 percent off MacKenzie-Childs Flower Market & Aurora Collections, 40 percent off in stock Ralph Lauren Home Furniture Collection and in stock rugs, and 50 percent off in stock bedding. In addition, select furniture floor samples are up to 70 percent off including the best selections of sofas, tables and chairs.

Store owner Rachelle Roth opened Urban Country in 1991 in its original location on Woodmont Avenue. It moved to its 6,500-square-foot showroom at the corner of Bethesda Avenue and Arlington Road in 2008.

The showrooom is also home to an interior design business for private homeowners and clients in the design industry.
