Sept. 13 cleanup to launch James River celebration

CHESTERFIELD, Va. (AP) — A weeklong celebration of the James River will kick off next month with an annual cleanup.

The 15th annual James River Regional Cleanup is set for Sept. 13. Other activities during the celebration include a guided paddle, a river cruise to search for sturgeon, a history event, and dining and social events.

The celebration is sponsored by the James River Advisory Council and partners throughout the region.

Volunteers can register for the cleanup online at jrac-va.org.
