BEREA, Va. (AP) — Intuit plans to lay off more than 150 workers at its facility in Stafford County.
The layoffs are part of a corporate-wide restructuring.
Intuit spokeswoman Elisabeth Gettelman tells The Free Lance-Star (http://bit.ly/1l7nPOy ) that the restructuring will allow the company to focus on its QuickBooks Online ecosystem.
The software maker’s Stafford County branch handles customer sales and service calls for a variety of accounting-related products.
A majority of the 159 employees affected by the layoffs are in the customer service division. The layoffs are effective at the end of the month.
Gettelman says a U.S.-based partner has been retained to manage this work.
About 500 people work at the Stafford County facility, which is located at the Stafford Office Industrial Park near Berea.
