Police: Man robbed at gunpoint in Fairfax County

WASHINGTON — A 29-year-old Fairfax County man was robbed at gunpoint on Saturday, police say.

The victim was walking on the 8400 block of Blankenship Street shortly after midnight when he was approached by a group of men — one with a handgun — who pushed him to the ground and demanded his wallet and cellphone, Fairfax County police say.

During the altercation, the victim says one of the suspects fired the gun. He was not hit, police say. However, he suffered minor injuries after being pushed

Police say two of the suspects were described as black and between 18 to 20 years old. One wore dreadlocks to his neck and all black clothing. The other was wearing a white sweater and black pants. There is no information about the other suspects.

Anyone with information is asked to call 866-411-TIPS.
