Billy Joel still has power to captivate audiences

WASHINGTON — It’s been several years since Billy Joel has toured, but the “Piano Man” is back on the road with a set list spanning his entire career.

Joel and his band are scheduled to perform at Nationals Park Saturday with opener Gavin DeGraw.

Joel’s current tour has been getting rave reviews from fans and critics. The set list from his July 18 performance at Wrigley Field included hits such as “Uptown Girl” and “Only the Good Die Young,” but also included some deeper cuts like “Vienna” from his 1977 album, “The Stranger.”

Joel has also been featuring a member of his road crew singing AC/DC’s “Highway To Hell.”

Can Joel still deliver?

As evidenced in this video from ABC’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve 2014, he can still easily captivate an entire stadium filled with screaming fans.

Tickets are still available through StubHub.com and start around $85.

For those who already have tickets, consider Metro as an option to get to the concert. The Navy Yard-Ballpark station on the Green Line is within walking distance of Nationals Park.

Parking arrangements can be made through the Nationals website at a hefty price — $45.75 per ticket.
