WASHINGTON – With the excitement of Shark Week simmering down, some of you might be wondering what comes next by way of local entertainment. Might we suggest chowing down on crabs, tasting regional brews or catching a drive-in movie.

The “Godfather of Go-Go” might be gone, but Chuck Brown will never be forgotten. Fans will honor the late musician with a day of music Saturday at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. Go-go groups Trouble Funk, Hot Cold Sweat, E.U., Backyard Band, Junkyard Bard and Suttle Thoughts will join Brown’s backing band, the Original Soul Searchers. Tickets are $40 to $65. Purchase online.

D.C. Beer Week and D.C. Restaurant Week are winding down this weekend, but that doesn’t mean it’s too late to take advantage of the deals around town. Smith Commons in Northeast is celebrating beer week with Regional Tap Take-Overs, which feature local beers from across the U.S. through Saturday. Check the website or call 202-396-0038 for more information.

For other closing events this weekend, take a look at the official D.C. Beer Week and D.C. Restaurant Week websites.

Take your love of food and booze a step further Saturday with the Chesapeake Crab and Beer Festival at National Harbor. The day is split into two sessions. The first one is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the second is from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Aside from the more than 40,000 crabs, there will also be live music and arts and crafts. Tickets range from $50 for beer-only passes to $110 for both brews and crabs. Check the website for more information.

When was the last time you went to the drive-in? If it’s been a while, head to Centreville for a free screening of Oscar-nominated flick “Hugo” Saturday at Trinity Centre Parking. Gates open at 6 p.m. and the movie starts when the sun sets. Look for free children’s activities and food and drink available for purchase.

For another outdoor movie option, check out “50 First Dates” in North Beach, Md Saturday night. The screening is free and also starts at sunset. Make sure to bring a towel or blanket for the sand. Check the website for more information.
