Region could see 'devastating recession' with sequestration

If federal budget cuts automatically take place in January, the Washington region could see lose about 65,000 federal jobs and 96,000 federal contractor positions, according to Stephen Fuller, director for the Center for Regional Analysis at George Mason University.

Obama cuts EPA, increases Chesapeake Bay Program

The Environmental Protection Agency's main program to restore the Chesapeake Bay would get more money but other projects for the water way would be cut in the budget released Monday by President Barack Obama, a Chesapeake Bay Foundation official said.
