Md. Beltway lane closures at Kenilworth Ave. through Thursday

Beginning Tuesday night, Dec. 11, and continuing nightly through Thursday, Dec. 13, the Maryland State Highway Administration will close three lanes of the Beltway Inner loop at Maryland Route 201/Kenilworth Avenue. The closures are needed for work on the Kenilworth Avenue overpass above the Beltway.

Va. lawmaker proposes higher gas tax to pay for road construction

State Sen. John Watkins (R-Powhatan) proposed a plan that would increase Virginia's gas tax from 17.5 cents a gallon to 31.5 cents a gallon. The 14-cent increase would eliminate the need to add more toll roads.
