Metro hasn't met its goal for escalator availability in months, and it doesn't look like things will improve any time soon.
D.C. police Chief Cathy Lanier raised a few eyebrows last week when she suggested to a congressional panel that Metro doesn't have enough officers to handle its ridership.
"If you are a place where people want to come and work and play, there's a responsibility to do some transportation investment," Tim Lomax, research engineer with the Texas Transportation Institute, tells WTOP.
