WASHINGTON - Fans can find great deals at the ballpark, this year, where the cheap seats are cheaper than ever.
Although the average cost of a full-price ticket is higher than ever in most cities, a trip to Nationals Park will cost a family of four 9 percent less than last year, according to the Fan Cost Index.
But as a general rule, paying more than face value is unnecessary. Jon Greenburg, editor of Team Marketing Report tells SmartMoney.com that getting a discount is easier in every way.
FanSnap has a free smartphone app for baseball fans, although it got a mediocre review for "connectivity issues," SmartMoney reports.
Team Marketing Report's 99 cent iPhone app FanCostExperience was launched in July. It lets fans share prices so they can find the cheapest seats available.
