WASHINGTON - If you've ever been to a restaurant only to find the coupon you had been hanging onto had expired, there's an app for you.
Using your smartphone, you can search for real-time meal deals near you, with an app by BiteHunter.com.
The concept, which is now rolling out in New York, Chicago and San Francisco, offers coupons in real time.
BiteHunter calls it the evolution of sites such as Groupon, where customers flock to discounts on various items. Instead, BiteHunter does the work for you and and tailors results to your tastes and location.
For instance, if you are in the mood for Italian, type in Italian on the BiteHunter website, and coupons from Italian restaurants in your area will pop up.
Users can then print the coupons or load them onto their mobile device for instant savings.
