Man, teen in crash at Calvert Co. airport

LUSBY, Md. - Maryland State Police say two people have been injured in a small plane crash at the end of a runway at a Calvert County airport.

Sources tell WTOP a man and a teenage boy were injured -- ages 47 and 16. Trooper First Class E. West of the Prince Frederick barracks says the plane crashed around 6:30 p.m. Sunday at an airport at the Chesapeake Ranch Estates in Lusby.

Both victims were flown to a local hospital.

The local residents aboard were flying back from Illinois and overshot the runway.

Two firefighters also were hurt during the rescue. The Federal Aviation Administration is going to investigate.
