HAMPTON, Va. (AP) -- NASA has awarded a $500,000 grant to the Virginia Air & Space Center in Hampton.
The center serves as the official visitor center for NASA's Langley Research Center.
The award is for a two-year education project designed to educate teachers, students and other learners to embrace science, technology and engineering.
NASA says the project will increase awareness of NASA activities while encouraging students to pursue careers that are critical to U.S. economic growth and NASA's future missions.
The Virginia Air & Space Center will partner with the Virginia Space Grant Consortium and Analytical Mechanics Associates Inc. for the project.
