BALTIMORE (AP) -- Police officials in Baltimore say they are investigating after a detective says he's being targeted for serving as a witness in a case against other officers.
WBAL-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1hHvUZf ) that Commissioner Anthony Batts pledged Thursday to support Detective Joe Crystal, who claims that he is facing retaliation. He says he been taunted and harassed, including finding a dead rat on his car.
Crystal testified against two officers. One was convicted of misconduct and another of assault.
In a statement, Batts says he has met with Crystal and made it clear that every resource would be used to "support and protect any officer who reports corruption or wrongdoing." He says there is an investigation underway because of his allegations.
