OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Owings Mills High School is cutting the ribbon on a new stadium.
Radio Station WBAL-AM reports (http://bit.ly/1dQnTmb ) the $1 million stadium is being dedicated Saturday before the school hosts Randallstown in varsity football. The stadium now has bleachers that can seat up to 1,000 people along with a press box and score board. The project also included a new track and new sod for the field.
Parents, students and teachers have been pushing for a new stadium for more than 20 years, but intense fundraising began three years ago. The money for the new stadium came mostly from the state, county and school system. An additional $35,000 came from private donations.
