BALTIMORE (AP) -- Police say a man died after a struggle with officers during a traffic stop in Baltimore.
The incident began during a traffic stop Thursday night on Kitmore Road in northeast Baltimore.
Deputy Commissioner Jerry Rodriguez says officers tried to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation. Police say during the stop a person interfered with the officers' ability to investigate the possible possession of narcotics and struggled with officers. The officers took the man into custody, but Rodriguez says he began to suffer what officers believed was medical distress. He says the officers called for an ambulance and began life-saving measures.
Paramedics took the man to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The homicide unit is investigating the man's death. His name has not been released.
