ELKRIDGE, Md. (AP) - Police in Howard County say three men are dead in a collision on U.S. 1 near Elkridge
The Baltimore Sun ( http://bsun.md/TCQqlX) reports that the road remained closed Thursday morning, several hours after the 6 a.m. accident.
The victims were identified as 20-year-old Degly Ubaldo Monroy Melendez, the driver; 25-year-old Carlos Osorio and his brother, 31-year-old Oscar Osorio. All are from Hyattsville.
Police say the crash was in the 7500 block of U.S. 1 near Meadowridge Road.
They say a Chevrolet Impala traveling north at a high rate of speed struck a southbound tractor-trailer as the truck driver tried to turn left across the highway.
The truck driver wasn't hurt.
