SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- Mo Evans came off the bench to hit 6 of 7 3-pointers and scored 18 points as second-seeded Indiana-Purdue-Fort Wayne knocked out two-time defending champion South Dakota State 64-60 Monday in the semifinals of the Summit League tournament.
The Mastodons (24-9) play top-seed North Dakota State on Tuesday.
Evans hit all five of his 3's in the first half as IPFW opened a 30-24 lead but the Jackrabbits (19-12) scored the first seven points of the second half.
SDSU's last lead was 43-42 but the Mastodons responded with eight straight, capped by Evans' sixth trey. The Jackets got back within two but couldn't get over the top.
The difference was 3-pointers as IPFW went 7 for 18 to 4 of 15 for SDSU, which shot better and won the battle of the boards, 36-29, but had 18 turnovers.
Brayden Carlson had 19 for the Jackrabbits.
