Wagner too much for Stetson 81-64

ESTERO, Fla. (AP) -- Latif Rivers scored 17 with three 3-pointers on Monday night to lead Wagner over Stetson 81-64 in the opening round of the Inaugural Gulf Coast Showcase at Germain Arena.

Naofall Folahan had 11 rebounds and seven blocks -- one off Wagner's all-time record for a single game. Dwaun Anderson and Marcus Burton scored 12 apiece and Jay Harris added 11.

Wagner (4-2) led only 33-28 at the break, but shot 57.1 percent in the second half and finished the game 29 of 59 from the field, including 10 of 22 from 3-point distance. The Seahawks took their largest lead by 20 with 3:21 left to play.

Stetson (0-6) trailed almost the entire game. Willie Green led the Hatters with 15 points. Raymone Andrews and Kentwan Smith each had 11.

Wagner advances to tomorrow's semifinals to play the winner between St. Bonaventure and Southern Illinois. Stetson will face the loser.
