RICHMOND, Va. - Chris Mooney is almost giddy, and it's probably only going to get harder for him to control his excitement.

The Richmond basketball coach's office is right down the hall from where the Spiders play their home games, and the 41-year-old Robins Center is about to begin getting a $17 million makeover.

Work is to begin Monday, a day after the arena hosts graduation ceremonies.

The changes will include adding video scoreboards and hospitality areas in all four upper corners of the arena, and extending the lower bowl seating to bring it closer to the court.

Mooney says the results will look like a new arena and enhance Richmond's home court advantage.
