Bryant controls a 42-9 victory over Robert Morris

SMITHFIELD, R.I. (AP) — Dalton Easton threw for two touchdowns and ran for one more and Bryant controlled a 42-9 victory over Robert Morris on Saturday.

Easton’s 4-yard TD pass to Chad Ward opened up a 28-0 scoring spree for the Bulldogs (6-1, 2-0 Northeast Conference). Paul Canevari ran for 177 yards and Ricardo McCray added 130, accounting for 307 of the Bulldogs’ 310 total yards on the ground.

Bryant held an uncontested lead throughout the game despite committing 16 penalties for 167 yards.

A safety with 6:46 left in the third quarter put the Colonials on the board and the following drive ended in Robert Morris’ only touchdown after Duane Mitchell caught a 14-yard pass from Derik Abbott.

Mitchell tied the Colonials record for consecutive games with a TD reception, hitting 30-straight games on Saturday.

The Colonials (1-7, 1-2) finished with 151 total yards. Abbott threw for 74 yards and two interceptions.
