Snow's what's up
at Adventure Theatre with the World Premiere of the new musical "The Snowy Day" based on the children's book of the same name. And this is the 50th Anniversary of it being the first American picture book that featured an African-American child as the main character. In it Peter meets a snowman who is afraid he'll melt when the sun comes out. So, "Peter the Great" (as he imagines himself) tries to save the snowman by helping him get to the North Pole. But Peter isn't allowed to go beyond the corner. It's the perfect play for children and only about 50 minutes long. "The Snowy Day" runs thru February 12, 2012 at Adventure Theatre, 7300 MacArthur Blvd Glen Echo, MD 301.634.2270
