Anne Arundel Co. nudist dispute continues

WASHINGTON – Sunday marked Day 36 in a standoff between a nudist park in Anne Arundel County and a woman who is speaking out against what she calls the “swinger lifestyle” that has taken over the campground.

Catherine Holmes, 54, says the 79-year-old Maryland Health Society has turned into a sex club, and she wants to sell the cabin she’s lived in for three years.

When she started speaking out against what she feels is a highly sexualized atmosphere at the camp, the society padlocked her door. Now Holmes, who says, “I really love skinny-dipping and hanging out hiking with my cat nude,” climbs into her cabin through a window.

She sued the society in June for a restraining order and $1 million, but lost. She has other legal actions pending against the campground.

The club tells the Capital Gazette that Holmes is an “unstable and disgruntled” resident and has asked the judge to evict her and make her pay more then $4,000 for property they say she’s damaged.

The court date is in January.
