FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- Maryland State police say a trooper and another driver have been injured in a 2-vehicle collision in Frederick County.
Police say Tfc. Michael Taluskie was conducting speed enforcement about 7:15 a.m. Wednesday on Maryland RT. 75 north of New Market. Authorities say Taluskie was traveling in his marked patrol vehicle using a radar device. Officials say he saw someone speeding, moved to the shoulder, activated emergency equipment and began to make a U-turn.
Troopers say Taluskie's vehicle was hit on the side door by a car driven by Michael Gregory Hobbs of Frederick.
Taluskie was flown to Shock Trauma in Baltimore; Hobbs was taken to a local hospital. Neither sustained life-threatening injuries.
