FREDERICK, Md. (AP) - The NAACP's Frederick County branch is seeking answers about Frederico Talley's departure last month as president of the county community college.

Talley, the first African-American president of Frederick Community College, left his job after a closed-door meeting with the board of trustees. He hasn't explained his departure, and neither has the board.

The Frederick News-Post reports ( that the local NAACP president has requested a meeting with the board. The president, Guy Djoken, says there's great public interest in Talley's departure and a "lack of clarity" from the board.

He says the African-American community was very proud when Talley became president.

A college spokesman says he understands the interest in Talley's departure, and that he hopes more information will be available when discussions between the board and Talley conclude.
