FREDERICK, Md. - State police say a helicopter was used to lower rescuers to a lost hiker in Frederick.
It happened Saturday in Gambrill State Park. Authorities say a State Police helicopter crew located the hiker with the aid of night vision equipment, which detected a faint glow from the hiker's cell phone.
Members of the Frederick County Advanced Technical Rescue Team were lowered to the hiker. The rescue team then used a GPS to escort the hiker out of the park to safety.
The hiker was not injured.
