WASHINGTON -- Late summer is great time to travel and save money. Book before Labor Day to take advantage of some unbeatable deals.
Jeanenne Tornatore of Orbitz says hotels in Wilmington, N.C., Mrytle Beach S.C. and several Florida locations like Fort Lauderdale, Clearwater and Panamc City are as low as $90 to $100 dollars a night.
People looking to take a cruise are also in luck.
"You can get five-night cruises for as little as $300 a person and that includes all your meals," Tornatore says.
For late summer travel to California, traditional winter resorts have great rates right now. Monterrey Bay hotels start at $165 and San Diego hotels at $169 a night on average.
Also, the caribbean is in its off season with deals in Bonaire for $130 a night and St. Lucia for $130 a night.
